A Letter from Robin and Ryan Boudreau

Hello and welcome. We are humbled and grateful to share the work of No Foot Too Small with you. We hope you find this to be a sacred, safe place where joy and grief beautifully collide and peacefully coexist.

Inspired by our son Beau, NFTS was founded to uplift families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss while honoring the baby we never got to hold. In celebrating Beau, it became our mission to celebrate angels across the country—uniting their families and providing private, sacred spaces for healing.

For Beau and for all of the angels we celebrate each year, thank you for being here. Thank you for your courage, trust, encouragement, and generosity. As a small but mighty nonprofit, we couldn’t be more grateful—today and every day.

With warmest regards,

Robin & Ryan Boudreau

Our Mission

Celebrate Angels. Unite Families. Build Birthing and Bereavement Suites.

We exist to celebrate, honor, and remember every baby gone too soon while walking alongside families through the grief of pregnancy and infant loss. Through remembrance events, peer-led support programs, and the creation of private, sacred spaces in hospitals, we provide compassionate care for bereaved parents and their communities.

Our Vision

The opportunity to choose joy. A community that understands. The gift of time.

We offer bereaved parents an environment to connect with others who truly understand, while creating moments of joy in the midst of grief. Our Birthing & Bereavement Suites provide peaceful, private spaces for healing—giving families precious time with their babies.

Our History

No Foot Too Small (NFTS) was founded in 2013 by Robin and Ryan Boudreau after the loss of their son, Beau.

During a routine anatomy scan, they learned Beau had severe acrania — the extent of his defects leaving him incompatible with life. Days later, they delivered him and left the hospital, hollow with empty arms. But they knew they had a choice: to remain in grief or live in a way that honored his life.

They chose the latter.

As Beau’s first birthday approached in 2014, Robin planned a celebration in his honor and invited other bereaved families to join. That first NFTS Benefit welcomed nearly 100 guests, celebrated 12 angels, and raised $10,000 for pregnancy and infant loss research. In the years that followed, the event grew, raising nearly $100,000 for prematurity research by 2017.

But Robin felt something was missing. What were they doing to help families immediately at the time of loss? A lightbulb moment led to the idea of creating Birthing & Bereavement Suites. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics said yes to partnering on the first one, and news coverage spread the mission far and wide.

In 2018, NFTS became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a national mission: Celebrate Angels. Unite Families. Build Birthing and Bereavement Suites.

Today, NFTS partners with hospitals in Iowa, Nebraska, and beyond to create healing spaces for families who will not take their babies home. Thousands of families have found connection through events and programs. As Beau’s mom says:

Beau was a gift. On the day we said ‘goodbye’ to him, we could have never fathomed the healing that would come from our heartache. We could have never dreamed that this special little boy would inspire the formation of a national organization – one that is uplifting so many families across the country. We are so very grateful to have taken his lead. Beau really did put “Mom” to work.
