"Our pregnancy journey started in 2013.  We found out we were pregnant in April 2013 and were so excited!  A few weeks later, we were told there was no heartbeat.  We were devastated but determined to try again.  Unsuccessful, we decided to see an infertility specialist.  We tried IUI 3 times with no success.  We were finally fortunate to do IVF.  This was the solution.  We were finally going to be parents!

In April of 2017, we found out were pregnant!  We were thrilled but still hesitant.  The entire pregnancy went well and I didn't have any issues.  We had a gender reveal party with our family and close friends.  We were having a baby girl!  Her name... Makaela Ann.  We bought all we needed and had her room all ready.

I often checked her heartbeat at work and watched her on ultrasound.   Like many days prior, on December 18th, 2017, I grabbed the doppler after lunch to listen to her heartbeat.  I couldn't find it.  My co-worker assured me it was there, so she tried.  Nothing... She grabbed one of our OB doctors we work with.  She tried to listen with no success.  She hooked me up to the NST (non-stress test) machine and grabbed another doctor.  I knew this wasn't good.  The face on the doctor told me, she was gone.  I don't remember anything after that.  I was 2 weeks from my due date!  I couldn't understand how she was gone.  I had ultrasounds every week.

I gave my birth to our angel on December 20th, 2017.  I think about her every single second of every single day.  Knowing I have a guardian angel watching over me gives me comfort."
